Mar Caballero-Matlak

Executive Support, Communications, and Coordinator of ArteSana

Mar was born in Puebla, México, where she attended the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (Benemerita Autonomous University of Puebla) and earned her degree in translation while she worked as a journalist at “La Región de Puebla” and other publications.


She is an artist, community defender, and educator with over 10 years of international experience. During her life, Mar has collaborated with different non-governmental organizations in European, African, Latin American, and Central American countries.


Her field of experience is in working with children and the empowerment of women through economic independence. Being an immigrant in the United States, Mar celebrates identity and cultural roots. As a cultural broker, she is enthusiastic about creating connections and the possibility for building united, resilient, and creative communities.


In her free time, you can find her painting any blank space, trail running, backpacking in the mountains, and contemplating sunsets with her dogs and husband.
