The Compañeras program at El Centro AMISTAD, founded by Elena Aranda along with other women in the community, began in 2002 with the intention of having a safe space where we could build community.
Since then, we meet weekly to share our concerns, our time, our skills, and to explore everything that helps to improve women’s holistic health We all count, we all contribute, and we all nourish each other with everyone else’s knowledge.
Raíces Vivas | Living Roots, formerly known as the ELLOS Program (Engaged Latino Leaders Offering Social-change) implements the curriculum of the Teen Outreach Program (TOP). This youth program is directed toward Latinx* youth in elementary, middle, and high schools in Boulder County.
This program works in collaboration with youth in grades 3-12. It is focused on positive youth development with a focus on the prevention of substance use, youth violence, and other factors which lead to school drop-outs in middle school.
Raíces Vivas supports youth to build trust and allows youth to share their ideas on how to improve their communities and how to be leaders, along with choosing healthy alternatives.
This program offers access and socioemotional support to the Spanish-speaking community through individual counseling and coaching sessions to develop social and emotional skills.
This program features 8 to 10 sessions designed to help parents develop specific skills to increase their emotional wellbeing and resilience. The curriculum is based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
